Instructions
Bring water to a boil in a pot. Peel the vegetables. If using fresh bell pepper, remove seeds and membranes, then cut it into julienne strips.
Dice potatoes and add them along with the bell pepper to the pot of boiling water.
Cut carrots into pieces. Add them to the pot and cook for 7 minutes.
Finely chop the onion. Dice the bacon into small cubes. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onion and bacon until golden brown. Add the sautéed ingredients to the soup.
Rinse lentils thoroughly under running water and let them drain completely. Cut sausages into medium-sized pieces. Red lentils should be cooked for 10-15 minutes. Add lentils and sausages to the soup. Cook the lentil soup for 10-12 minutes. Season with salt to taste. At the end of cooking, sprinkle the lentil soup with chopped herbs.
When serving, you can sprinkle freshly ground pepper directly into the bowl. Enjoy your meal!
